Miscellaneous Entry
As part of my job I write I lot of checks. I spend company money like mad. At first I was a little uncomfortable with this. I was reluctant to make the company bank roll any smaller, and had these really strict limits on how much I would spend on a daily basis. I gave myself a really small budget, in other words.
Time wore on and I became more accustomed to my duties and responsibilities. I also became more familiar with the ins and outs of my job, the little details that make the difference in aggregate. The result has been a much increased spending bug in me. Man, I spend money like mad these days. I think I dropped 13k of company dough this afternoon. It may seem a paltry number to some, but $13k X 5 days a week = 65k/week which for a company with a staff of under 30 is no small number to be tossing around. Our gross last year was a mil (or thereabouts), so I think I'm pretty much on mark.
Yeah, I like writing checks and spending money that is not my own. The unfortuante thing is that all the checks I write are to other people in other states and not to me. :(
