Coffee Abuse

It has been rainy as of late in the Las Vegas valley, which as you might expect is a little rare. I'm not a big fan of rainy weather, which is partly why I live in the desert now. I was raised in an area that receives 330+ days of sunshine a year, so my tolerance for dark & gloomy weather is little.
Anyway, the weather has been rainy the past two days. Our office ran out of coffee on Friday last week, and we haven't had any replacements since. I figured this was because our office do-everything-guy was out of town so I went to the CFO/COO to see if I could use some petty cash to get some coffee for the office. She tells me we don't do petty cash. Ok, I can understand that. But can we still get some coffee, like write a check or something? She then launches into a mini-schpiel about how she doesn't want to get coffee because "it was being abused."

Coffee abuse? Are you serious? I guess when people make a pot and don't drink the thing down to the last drop she considers it wasteful and threfore: NO COFFEE FOR YOU!
Excuse me, but that's just stupid. I think she realized this, and even if we are a little wasteful of coffeee around the office it is only $8 for a big-ass tin of the cheap stuff (which we buy exclusively) and I don't think that one pot of $8 coffee really dings the bottom line that much. Of course, this protest from our CFO reminds me that she is the one who hid the toilet paper for fear of people looting our bathroom stock at random. Depression era mindset meet the modern office!
