Dilemmas & Solutions
OK, so I've spent all day on the telephone trying to get a hold of people on the East Coast. This is a terrible situation, being that I'm on the West Coast. You see, by the time I get to work those damn New Yorkers are already heading to lunch time. Good luck if you want to get anything done with them on Friday. So factor in an hour or so for lunch and I basically only get a sliver of the day there. It sucks. Of course, I guess the reverse is true as well, by the time they're all up and running I'm just getting in, so it works in the converse.
Being on the phone all day has made me become fast friends with our IT department. You see, unbeknownst to me until very recently they apparently have a lot of control over our phones (read: they ARE the phone system). I always thought that was more of an independent phone company thing, boy was I wrong. IT can make the phones do whatever they please, to a point. Computers are everywhere.
