Your company and how you run it
As part of my job I deal with rejected filings from a multitude of companies from any number of states. These filings are being rejected by state agencies, for various reasons. I see all kinds of things come across my desk. Sometimes something is not signed, other times the filing fee was not included. I can understand these omissions and simple mistakes. But sometimes I get something back because the state tells me: we don't know your company. This makes me wonder "how does someone operate a company and not know where the company does business?" I mean, how do you go to the trouble to file an official state document complete with fees but not even be operating (legally) in that state. I write it off sometimes to some companies being too large and unwieldy, but it still makes me wonder about the state of some businesses just tossing money around. And truly, some of these companies are not
that large. At the end of the day I don't care, though as we still get paid and that's the important thing.
