Instant Karma's Gonna Get You ... Ok, I'm not one to really pull favorites, especially when it comes to web hosting, but I think this little saga deserves note. A while back I posted about Rogers Cadenhead and how he had the domain name benedictxvi.com registered. Well, there was an Italian chap by the name of Jacopo who registered the domain benedict16.com. Rogers took the high road and donated the space to a non-profit organization and is now planning on transferring the domain to the Catholic Church. I'd like to point out that I'm not Catholic, so I have no favoritism in that regard, but I just like the humanity of Rogers' actions. Yes, I'm a humanist at times. I point all this out because in contrast to Rogers' actions Jacopo blogged on his site that it was up for sale to the highest bidder, porn and gambling included. If you go to the benedict16.com website you can read all about his lofty monetary ambitions. Sadly for him it seems that after the initial press frenzy the market for his domain vanished. I'm not surprised. Jacopo also made an ass of himself on his blog by being, how to put it, a little *frisky* with Rogers. Now he's willing to take $3000 US, no less.
